Twenty-four year old Kimberley-Rose Pefhany has been described on more than one occasion as being a gifted young soprano with an “exquisite voice” - ”a gorgeous instrument with wonderful coloratura!”

Kimberley-Rose made her European debut in both Germany and Greece in the summer of 2012; performing the roles of Barbarina and Susanna(cover) (Le nozze di Figaro) with the Lyric Opera Studio in Weimar Germany, and the role of Adina (L’Elisir d’amore, scenes) with the Greek Opera Studio. She returned to Germany to perform the role of Pamina (in German) in Mozarts Die Zauberflöte with Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in September 2014 and also performed Pamina in English, with the Toronto’s Summer Opera Lyric Theatre in August 2014.

Active in Toronto’s classical music community from an early age, Kimberley-Rose has performed in Evita with Mirvish Productions; Carmen with the Canadian Opera Company; Carmina Burana with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra; and several operas with the Canadian Children’s Opera Company. Lead roles with the CCOC include Gretel (Hansel and Gretel); Eurydice (Orpheus in the Underworld); and Mrs. Cratchit in A Dickens of a Christmas- a contemporary Canadian opera written by Errol Gay, libretto and direction by Michael Patrick Albano.

One of the first musicians to perform in Toronto’s glorious Koerner Hall, Kimberley-Rose had the honor of being one of three musicians chosen to perform for HRH the Duchess of Cornwall during the Royal Visit in 2009, and was interviewed by both CBC and Global News. Kimberley has since returned to Koerner Hall as a Spirit in Massenet’s Cendrillon.

Consistently shining in competitions, Kimberley-Rose has won numerous competitions and awards, including 1st place at the National Association of Teacher’s of Singing Ontario Chapter Auditions, for 3 of 4 years, and placed 2nd in 2013, in the Post-Graduate women’s category. Kimberley Rose has also won the Ontario Provincial Music Association finals in Diploma (2013), and placed second in Grade 10 (2011) and Grade 8 (2008). Most recently Kimberley-Rose was awarded the prestigious Senior Voice Scholarship from Newmarket Voice Festival, and also earned the opportunity to perform Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate with Sinfonia Toronto at the Toronto Centre for the Arts in February 2015 through her performance in the concerto class at the North York Music Festival.

Kimberley-Rose has attended many young artist summer programs, including Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (Germany); Summer Opera Lyric Theatre (Toronto); Greek Opera Studio; SongFest (California); The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival; and Opera Atelier Summer Opera/Dance Program. Kimberley-Rose was a member of the Canadian Children’s Opera Company for many years, and attended the Young Artists Performance Academy at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto.

Kimberley-Rose has earned her Performance Diploma from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music-studying with Ms. Stephanie Bogle and coaching with Ms. Jennifer Tung.
